Perfect-a-Pet Dog Behaviour and Training Services
My life revolves around animals. They are part of each and every day and I love it!
I left university in 2008 with a BSc Applied Animal Behaviour and training from Bishop Burton College. For the next 3 years I worked as behaviourist at an animal rescue centre as I built up Perfect-a-pet alongside. I now offer a range of behaviour related services including one-one training, puppy training courses and behaviour problem solving.
I have a licence to implant microchips. All my services are fully insured and I have lifelong experience in dealing with a wide variety of animals in a wide variety of situations.
I am based near Skipton but can travel to your home for training and behaviour sessions across North/West Yorkshire and Lancashire. I have a private training field near Black Lane Ends which allows a safe environment to train outdoors with controlled distractions. I also meet clients out and about to train on walks and in public places where they often need the most help.
The other member of the perfect-a-pet team is my own dog “Ember”. She is only young and currently in training to hopefully become my doggy assistant to help other dogs work through their problems. Check out the news section or my Facebook Page to follow Ember’s progress.
SERVICES What we do
Dog Behaviour Consultations
Perfect-a-pet offers private one-one consultations to help you with any behaviour problems your dog may have. Every dog and situation are different so together we will come up with a behaviour management and training plan to solve your individual problems using the most up to date, positive training and behaviour techniques.
Puppy Training
The perfect-a-puppy course is the perfect way to start your puppy off on the road to being a well adjusted, happy pet dog. We cover all the basics and focus greatly on that all important socialisation, but being a one-one course means we can tailor the training to exactly what you want from your puppy. Suitable for puppies aged 8 weeks to 6 months.
Adult Dog Training
Dogs of any age and any background can be trained using modern, positive training techniques. My one-one training sessions are suitable for all levels, whether you want to just sharpen up your dog’s skills, advance beyond the basic puppy training or start from scratch with a dog who’s had no training at all.
Fun Dog Training
Dog training should always be fun! Perfect-a-pet can offer training beyond basic obedience to help you have fun, build skills and have a better relationship with your dog. Things such as Rally-o, trick training, basic sniffer dog and fun dog agility exercises are all great ways to do this.
Microchipping
All dogs in the UK have to be microchipped from 8 weeks old. Perfect-a-pet can microchip your litter of pups at your own home/kennels so no stress of travel for the pups. My microchips are registered on the Animal Tracker database and are recognised by the ISDS for registration. I can also microchip pet cats and rabbits.
